Data Deletion
Last updated: 2026-09-22 · النسخة العربية
1. Fastest route: from your Meta settings
- On Facebook: Settings ⇒ Business Integrations ⇒ Wasl ⇒ Remove ⇒ choose “request that data be deleted”.
- Meta sends us the signed request; we return a confirmation code and a status URL, and execution starts automatically within minutes.
- Open that URL any time — or paste the code into the status page — to see: request received · in progress · completed.
Status page: /data-deletion/status?code=…
2. Exactly what gets deleted
When a deletion request is executed for someone who messaged a business on Messenger, Instagram or Threads:
- Deleted outright: their identity on that platform and the raw profile as received from it, everything the AI remembered about them, their event timeline, their custom field values and tags, AI runs over their conversations, and the raw webhook envelopes carrying their identifier.
- Anonymized: message rows remain with no text, no attachments, no voice transcript and no template; the conversation keeps no preview and no summary; the contact’s name becomes an anonymous placeholder.
- Why message rows are not dropped: conversation counts and response times are the business’s record of its own work, not data about you — while the content, which is about you, is removed entirely.
- Message attachments lose their reference in storage and are removed by the periodic media sweep.
If you also have a conversation with the same business on another channel (WhatsApp, Telegram), it is outside this request — ask the business, or write to us.
3. If you connected a Page, account or number to a workspace
- Open your workspace ⇒ Channels ⇒ select the channel ⇒ Disconnect. The encrypted access token is deleted immediately and sending/receiving stops.
- Or remove the Wasl app in your Meta settings — we receive the deauthorization callback, disconnect the channels you connected with a readable reason, and email the workspace owner.
4. If you are a customer who messaged a business through Wasl
Your conversations belong to the business you messaged; we process them on its behalf. Ask the business directly, or write to the address below naming the Page or number you messaged — we forward your request, follow up on it, and respond within thirty days.
5. Deleting an entire workspace
- Export first if you want to keep your data: Settings ⇒ Export data — an open archive with all conversations, contacts and knowledge.
- Then email us from the workspace owner’s address. We confirm within three business days, delete the workspace’s data from the database and storage within thirty days, and from backups as their rotation expires.
- The audit log keeps the trace of actions, unlinked from any name identifying who performed them, for security purposes.
